A 8th season of Scrubs?

This summer i just found out about the show scrubs and have seen almost all the episodes except the seventh season. And now i keep seeing things saying there is gonna be a eighth season to make up for the writers strike!!! is it tru??? also i dont quite understand what JD did to hurt elliot so bad besides break up. if u kno plz explain
