Why are so many questioning how long will we be in Iraq?

Why is it expected that we liberate and rebuild a country in less than 5 years? The trade towers fell before we went into Iraq - how is the suggested monument coming along? We can't even complete that yet the dems/liberals in our society want us out of Iraq . . . i'm a little confused.
