No, this is not true. I don't know who started that "rumor", whether it was Mohammed himself or one of his followers, but it's completely bogus. In the New Testament, Jesus says that when He leaves He will send a Comforter - this was the Holy Ghost, which decended upon the apostles at Pentacost. Mohammed is never mentioned anywhere in biblical scripture, unless it's one more thing that Mohammed rewrote.
